passing of our beloved Jules on November 10th, 2008
1944 - 2008
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of ur beloved
Jules on November 10th, 2008 at the early age of 64 after a
courageous battle with cancer. Jules was born on January 7, 1944 in
Bellevue, SK, the first of seven children. Jules attended school in
Bellevue until he graduated. He then moved to Edmonton where he met
a lovely girl, Florette Valcourt, and soon married in Picardville,
AB on August 13, 1966. They were blessed with two children, Patrick
in 1967 and Jacqueline in 1971. Jules and Florette moved to
Kinistino, SK from 1976 until 1985, from there they moved to
Sherwood Park, Saskatoon, then made Prince Albert their home. Jules’
career in the autobody industry spans over 40 years, as owner and
body man at various shops around Saskatchewan. Jules was well known
in Prince Albert and area. He was a past executive of various
organizations in Saskatchewan and he was an active member of the
Kinsmen Club, Cosmo Club and the Klassic Kruizers Kar Klub. He was
often seen driving around Prince Albert in his red Mustang or
motorcycle. Jules had an innumerous circle of friends and a large
family and was happiest when he had people around. He was so young
at heart that people of all ages loved to visit with Jules and talk
about cars, bikes, or anything at all. Jules’ pride and joy were his
grandchildren. Jules was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Fernande Gareau. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years
Florette; his son Patrick (Faye) and their children Kyle and Adam;
his daughter Jackie (Billy) McLennan and their children Brandon,
Justin, Brittany, Brianne and Jaelyn; his brothers Neil (Marielle),
Serge (Gail), Marc (Diane), Wilf (Lori); his sisters Paulette (Cyrille)
Gaudet and Hilda (Ken) Worobec; his father and mother-in-law Leopaul
and Flore Valcourt of Westlock, AB; his sisters-in-law Yvette Shank,
Paulette (Alf) Hauk, Claudette (Gerhardt) Hiller; his brother-in-law
Ernest (Myra) Valcourt and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of
other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian
Cancer Society or the Victoria Hospital Palliative Care Ward. Prayer
Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2008 with
Yvette Gareau officiating. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on
Saturday, November 15, 2008 with celebrant Reverend Father Matthew
Nguyen. Both services will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic
Church, 260-25 Street East, Prince Albert, SK. Private family
